About Captain Coaster

Captain Coaster is a participative roller coaster guide. Riders look up coasters and parks, rate and review the ones they've ridden, build their Top lists and follow a world ranking calculated from these contributions.

Our Goal

We want Captain Coaster to be a companion for riders: a place to find a coaster, keep track of what you've ridden and share your passion. Everyone can search and read. An account lets you contribute, one step at a time: mark a coaster as ridden, rate it, then review it if you feel like it.

What You Can Do

• Search: Find a coaster by its name or its park's name, then read its information, reviews and photos
• Follow the World Ranking: See how coasters compare, with a ranking updated every month from members' ratings and Tops
• Rate and Review: Share your opinion on the coasters you've ridden
• Build Your Tops: Put your favorite coasters in order and shape the ranking with more precision
• Explore the Map: Find coasters near you or plan your next park visit

The Ranking

The credibility of the ranking comes from its method: only riders who have experienced both coasters weigh in on a comparison between them. You can read how it works in Understanding Captain Coaster's Ranking System.

Our Community

Everything on Captain Coaster rests on what riders contribute. As of October 2026, that means:

• 880,000+ ratings
• 100,000+ reviews
• 26,000+ riders

Development

Captain Coaster is built and maintained by a small team of roller coaster fans who are also web developers. It's available in English, French, Spanish and German, and it keeps evolving with feedback from its members.
